One of the tools we use in PuMP that almost everyone loves is the XmR chart. We nickname them Smart Charts.

Often, we're asked for more detail in how to create and use XmR charts. So, my PuMP Contractor in Turkey, Ayca Tumer Arikan, and I have updated an old training program to give a deep dive into these brilliant charts for our KPIs.

Understanding KPIs with Smart Charts focuses on accurately interpreting performance change signals in KPIs by combining the control graph method known as XmR Charts with PuMP techniques. These graphs and techniques offer a much more accurate approach than other common applications that tell us whether performance has changed over time, and if so, when and how much.

It also aims to emphasise that Smart Charts are not limited to production or sales processes and are suitable for all KPIs that are meaningfully defined both at the organizational level and in all processes.
